This is just a little topic that im suprised not many people touch on alot. I mean pick rates determine everything (an op being balanced or OP) this is my predictions on what operators are going to be picked less or more. BlackbeardHe used to be at 100% for his pick rate in touraments I expect that to drop harder than a gorrila at a zoo.
Do I agree with the nerf? I think 60 is too much but my opinionWho will this affect? No one in perticular except BB, he wont be an issue nor will he be seen frequently.
FuzeI already loved him, I mained him before the buff and now he is just fantastic! The third charge helps alot and really does work.
Expect to see Fuze shoot up in the pick rates.Who will this affect? Jager He will be seen alot more (even tho he is already everywhere) but most likely alot less in Hostage. Also mute will be a good way to stop him at windows (minor increase probably).
GlazHe is an odd ball. Honestly what does he have going for him besides large holes and windows breaking in 3 shots?
He does have a powerful rifle but again that begs the question. What does glaz bring to the table? The recent buff to his rifle is great and expect to see alot more glaz's but why have glaz when you can have a twitch or thatcher or shield user? (unless its plane then that ♥♥♥♥ is golden for glaz). Shield usersShields can now do their job and take point without getting killed by nitros stupidly easy.
One operator in perticular is going to be a monster. Montage is going to be picked alot more thanks to that buff but ops like blitz and even a shield fuze will be seen more rampantly.Who will this affect? Kapkan and Frost they can deal with shield users easy as long as they places their traps right and the shield doesnt look at the trap directly. Expect more trappers. THE LORD TACHANKA!Hes going to be picked a lot. Simple as that.
Its like having the worlds greatest slice of pie hovering in front of you, barely out of reach FOR A YEAR. Then you lost enough weight to catch the pesky pie. Tachanka wont be effective on ALL maps but he will on alot of em.Who will this affect? Expect alot more from capitao, Fuze, glaz, and ash.
All of these ops can deal with Tachankas' shield or whoever is behind it without risk. SmokeEver since the ranked timer change to 3 mins smoke has gotten a major buff and increase in pick rate. Last 60 seconds?
Large hole in the wall? Bottle necked enemies? No problem throw a smoke and wait till its gone then do it again. Oh look at that its 10 seconds of crunch time. And now this update allows you to throw your smokes like an average person?
Yeah expect smoke to counter shields and breachers.Who will it affect? This will make buck and other breachers to be needed alot more. If the time is ticking and smoke blocks you. Well you gotta get in there another way why not make a different hole to go through?. BanditAnother battery another wall.
He and glaz should get an ability rework but I would say Bandits pick rate wont really change maybe a little bit more thanks to the extra battery.Who will it affect? Thatcher More walls blocked by bandit and mute will mean he is going to be wanted alot more.Thoughts? Lets discuss. I main Glaz alot and he is pretty good. His main advantage is range but he is also weak to headshots too like everyone else.
Not alot of maps give him the ability to setup at range like house and a few others. His biggest selling point is picking out peekers.
The peeker advantage is that you only see the top of their head while to them they see all of you that is visible. His rifle sight can spot that and aim for it.
He is supposed to be able to shoot through reinforced walls but that i dont know about but he is able to pierce Castle's reinforced walls and can shoot through the bullet proof windows on the plane. Would be a neat feature where he has 1 magazine of AP rounds to do so. But yeah most maps just dont allow glaz to shine as much.
Id say they should make the sissor lifts and other vantage points a little bit randomized to give him different angles to fire from.
I’ve been a fan of Ubisoft's games for years, playing, following, and participating in Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, The Division, Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed, with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time being one of the first games I bought with my own money. I’m enthusiastic about the constantly changing face of Rainbow Six Siege in particular, as well as its community and esports scenes. Outside of Forbes, I have managed LetsPlayVideoGames.com and written for Wireframe Magazine, Destructoid, The Telegraph, Polygon and PCGamesN about everything from games to hardware. The author is a Forbes contributor. The opinions expressed are those of the writer. G2 Esports’ Rainbow Six Siege team captain Fabian has started to remove one operator from the game entirely, after months of complaints about his overpowered nature from all levels of play have finally hit a fever pitch.Lion, who was introduced in Operation Chimera, has been the target of a lot of criticism since his introduction, mainly due to his ability to scan the entire map and easily locate any moving enemies. As an attacker, he can effectively shut down the entire defensive team’s ability to roam and collect information, as the risk of being pinged by his drone is simply too great a risk.
Currently, the only way to avoid having your location shown to the entire enemy team is to simply remain still for vital seconds. Lion, one of the operators introduced in Operation Chimera. As Fabian mentioned on Twitter, the result of this is that the defense is much more likely to simply hole up in one place “like a scared chicken”. Siege’s enjoyment lives and dies on clutch wins and unexpected plays, and Lion is considered by much of the community to be antithetical to that.Man I don’t miss playing with or against Lion, first time in 3 months. He is horrible. It is so sad that one operator has such a massive impact on the way you have to play, it makes you not take any risks and sit still like a scared chicken.— G2 Fabian (@G2Fabian)It is also worth noting that Lion has one of the highest banned pick rates of any operator in the competitive scene. At the Paris Majors in August (which G2 won), he had a whopping being beaten only be defender Mira at 71.9%.
Considering the second highest ban rate for an attacker was Glaz at only 39.1%, it shows just how problematic Lion has become since his introduction. The community has suggested potential nerfs for Lion, such as limiting the pings to only Lion, instead of the rest of the team, or give the defense a way to counter or outright destroy the drone. Some players believe Lion should be the attacker’s equivalent of Pulse: a decent operator for location, but with severe limitations that require constant communication with their team.At the time of writing, the petition has received 1,100 signatures in the one hour it has been live. While it is unlikely the calls for removal are genuine, it is big actions by high-profile players like this that are most likely to attract Ubisoft’s attention, so expect big overhauls to Lion in the not-too-distant future.Covering Rainbow Six Siege, its community and competitive scene.
I also really like simulators, indie games, Assassin’s Creed and computer hardware. RECOMMENDED BY FORBES.
